In devamrutam website, we have used three language scripts, english, sanskrit and tamizh. The following phonetics scheme has been used for the english transliteration of tamizh and sanskrit alphabets. Kindly follow the scheme while reading for proper pronunciation of the words.

i for இ,  ee/I for sound ஈ, ई
u for उ, உ,  oo/U for sound ஊ, ऊ
E for sound ஏ,ए,  ai for sound ஐ, ऐ 
o for ஒ,  O for sound ஓ, ऒ
ou/au for sound ஔ, औ
m for अं (m sound),  : for अः,  H for ஃ

CONSONANTS

ka for sound க, क, kha for sound ख, ga for ग, gha for sound घ, nga for ङ 

cha for sound ச, च, Cha for sound छ, ja for sound ज, jha for sound झ, ngya for ञ

ta for sound த, त, tha for sound थ, da for sound द, dha for sound ध , na for sound न, ன, ந

Ta for sound ट, Tha for sound ठ, Da for sound ड, Dha for sound ढ, Na for sound ण, ண
